PhD students

Roman John Waller Alvarez is a Master of Physics from the University of Lancaster where he worked on novel semiconductor detectors for non-invasive glucose monitoring. He is studying for his PhD with the Quantum Engineering Lab where he works on high-mass quantum systems using engineered nanomaterials. In his free time, he enjoys skateboarding and water polo.

Will Guest is a PhD Student continuing the work started in his master’s on optically levitated sensor arrays at the University of Manchester. In his spare time, he's playing boardgames like wingspan or Quacks.

Harshini Pradeep Paranjape completed her Integrated Master’s in Physics at the Indian Institute of Technology  Roorkee, where she worked on characterising LIGO’s sensors for her thesis. She joined the group in October and is excited to now build quantum sensors with levitated systems. Outside of research, she enjoys playing the guitar and video-editing.
